Key Information:

*Please make sure students complete all homework on time.

*Please check their planners daily and sign in the appropriate spaces.

*Information can always be found on the school website under my name. There is a link to the homework, etc.

*Students have been learning about fractions.  They are able to make basic fractions and are starting to plot them on a number line.  These next few weeks will focus on equivalent fractions and how to reduce a fraction to its lowest form.

*Students have been learning about ecosystems.  Our discussion continues into Ch. 4 : Changes in Ecosystems.  Students will learn about recycling, conservation, natural disasters, and the difference between endangered and extinct animals.

Language Arts/Reading:

*This month students will be working on the skills of compare/contrast, cause and effect, and how to read a dictionary or glossary.

*We will also be practicing our sounds of words and what comes at what sound comes at the beginning, middle, or end of each word.

*I-READ will take place on March 17th and 18th.  I ask that your child is present those two days and does not have any appointments.  The test are approximately 30 minutes long.  We will take 2 on the 17th and the last part on the 18th.  We will be testing right away in the morning.  Please make sure your child is well-rested and has a healthy breakfast.
